Herb-Speckled Spaetzle and a New Blog

I am back cooking with the group French Fridays with Dorie!  This is a fun group that is cooking a different recipe each week from the cookbook Around My French Table by Dorie Greenspan.

This weeks recipe was Herb-Speckled Spaetzle!  I have seen this made on tv but this was my first attempt at making it!  I did go out and by the spaetzle maker - found it at Bed Bath and Beyond for $6.99 minus my 20% coupon! :-)   I am glad I invested in it, because I love spaetzle!

The dough was made out of flour, nutmeg, milk, eggs and finely chopped fresh herbs.  Then you bring a large pot of water to a boil, put your dough into the spaetzle maker and move through the holes over the boiling water.  It is done in two minutes.

In Dorie's recipe we added cooked mushrooms and onions.  This makes a great side dish or can be eaten as a main course.

Now onto my second bit of business.....NEW BLOG.  For some reason I was having trouble loading pictures....I believe it was because my old blog had my old email address and I wasn't able to change it??!!  I know enough about computers to be dangerous!!

So I thought NEW YEAR 2013 and a new blog Haden Kitchen Favorites.  Hopefully my followers with follow on my new blog!

  1. Your spaetzle look perfect! I think a spaetzle-maker is a good investment, especially for that price!

  4. Next time I try this recipe, I'm getting the spaetzle-maker! Not only does it sound like it makes the job easier, I think the spaetzle comes out looking better. Yours looks really terrific! Nice job!
